Via Michele Mercati 35, Roma - Map
Around the most elegant parts of Rome, in the Parioli district, a stone’s throw from the Belgian embassy, there’s the Sartoria Litrico. A historical interlude of the Dolce Vita has gone through the test mirror that is still used in the atelier today, together with the furniture made by the artists who have lived there since 1951, when Angelo Litrico opened his first workshop in Via Sicilia. From Vittorio Gassman to the American President Kennedy, from Andreotti to Mastroianni, a fixture of tailor-made men’s haute couture that’s been as inspirational as Valentino and Renato Balestra. Here, the magic of the past can be found in the precious archive (recognised by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage) and in the atmosphere of an artisanal workshop, which – like 70 years ago – welcomes customers to create the perfect suit, as if they were in their own living room.
