A stone’s throw from the Vatican City, between the cobblestone streets of the Prati district of Rome, precisely in via degli Scipioni, you’ll discover a precious workshop. The oldest of its kind in the capital: it’s the Antica Manifattura Cappelli, which has been creating unique hats since 1936 with rigor and creativity. Walls with over two thousand wooden shapes that look like sculptures, the original oven for drying straw and felt, the details of the fabrics or the secrets of milliners. Artwork-like hats commissioned from high fashion houses, fairytale-like from theater and cinema or “tailor-made” for any enthusiast’s request. “The hat always rules,” they explain.
